The West Hawai’i County Band continues the 2019 season with a concert filled with music to thrill the kid in all of us. Included in the concert will be Tchaikovsky’s dynamic and stirring “1812 Overture”, music from the films “Miss Saigon,” and “The Sound of Music” as well as the theme from TV’s “Lost in Space” by noted composer John Williams. You may have to resist the urge jump up and do the paso doble to the infectious gypsy tunes of “España Cañi” or tap your toes to “The Chimes of Liberty” a march composed by Edwin Goldman, a contemporary of Sousa and founder of the American Bandmaster’s Association.
Come and enjoy live band music performed by musicians from all walks of life who live right in your own community.
The artistic director of the West Hawai’i County Band is Bernaldo Evangalista.
This concert series is brought to you in part by the County of Hawai’i Parks and Recreation Department and the West Hawai’i County Band Friends.
