Daily through December 31, 2017
The Friends of Iolani Palace invite guests to celebrate the life and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the passing of Hawaii’s revered Queen Liliuokalani with a special temporary exhibition now on display through Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017 in the Lower Galleries of Iolani Palace.
Queen Liliuokalani was named heir to the Hawaiian throne in 1877. The alii wahine led her country by serving as its advisor, regent, ruler and protector until her death in 1917. This exhibition at the Palace is to honor this life and legacy.
In addition to viewing these historic artifacts, guests will also have the opportunity to engage in an interactive activity highlighting the Queen’s revolutionary leadership when they visit the exhibition. The temporary exhibition is presented in partnership with the Kamakakuokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies on the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus.
