Swim over to the Waikīkī Aquarium for the 11th Annual Mauka to Makai Environmental Expo on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Presented by the City and County of Honolulu's Department of Facility Maintenance, the Hawaii State Department of Health Clean Water Branch and the Waikīkī Aquarium, the free family-friendly expo celebrates Earth Month and promotes the importance of maintaining a clean and pollution-free Hawaii, from the mountaintops to the ocean.
Guests will enjoy live entertainment, a fish release and interactive activities from various organizations including hands-on learning, arts and crafts, and educational displays that showcase ways to protect and preserve Hawaii's environment. The entertainment and activity schedule is as follows:
9:30 a.m. Kalihi Kai Elementary School's Ukulele Club
10:30 a.m. Edge of the Reef Feeding
11 a.m. Halla Pai Huhm Studio (traditional Korean dance)
12 p.m. Fish Release
12:30 p.m. Tekniqlingz (traditional Filipino dance)
The event is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available in the back parking lot at Jefferson Elementary School beginning at 8:45 a.m., with free shuttle to and from the Aquarium courtesy of Waikīkī Trolley. While at the event, guests can also access FRE WiFi Hotspots provided by Spectrum.
