The goal of this Financial Literacy Program is to help the community improve their understanding of financial concepts and services to empower individuals in making informed choices and actions to improve the financial well-being for their families, businesses and communities. The following series of financial workshops will provide you with a diverse understanding of the financial challenges you may face, including insurance plans, financial investments, buying versus renting a home, health care insurance decisions, estate and tax planning, navigating the various consumer banking products, and understanding and implementing small business strategies for growth and success.

From June 12 through September 25, 2018: There will be eight sessions, two hours each, to be held twice a month on a Tuesday evening at the FilCom Center. No cost to attend (though must be able to attend all sessions). Complete schedule of sessions:

June 12, 6-8 p.m. - Medicaid/Medicare
June 26, 6-8 p.m. - Insurance
July 10, 6-8 p.m. - Investments
July 24, 6-8 p.m. - Buying or Renting
August 7, 6-8 p.m. - Tax Planning
August 21, 6-8 p.m. - Estate Planning
September 11, 6-8 p.m. - Consumer Products
September 25, 6-8 p.m. - Small Business
