Opening rodeo weekend, the popular Paniolo Parade takes place at 9 am Saturday along Baldwin Avenue in Makawao. This year’s theme of “Honoring our Heritage” will be reflected in the community entries. Maui Roping Club stages Hawai‘i’s largest rodeo with more than 350 cowboys from all over the world competing at Oskie Rice Arena on Olinda Road. Championship events begin on Saturday at 1 pm when cowboys ride and rope for top prizes and finish on Sunday.
