“TheBus” is Oahu’s most reliable and sustainable mode of transportation. Starting July 1, 2022 there will be new rates for TheBus. They are raising their rates for the first time in four years to help subsidize the increasing operational costs. If you don’t want to rent a car or catch a Uber, “TheBus” is the best mode of transportation and best value on the island! TheBus is very affordable and easy to use.
The Circle Island Bus will take you on the most scenic views Oahu! Enjoy a relaxing picturesque ride of sandy beaches, quaint towns and pineapple fields! Stop to grab some rays on the North Shore, challenge yourself at Dole Plantation’s Giant Pineapple Garden Maze, then reward yourself with the world famous Dole Whip. Make a day at Sea Life Park Hawaii to check out the bird sanctuary, feed the sea lions and view the sensational Dolphin Show! TheBus even has express routes if you want get to Ala Moana Shopping Center or Pearl Harbor with limited stops!

Riders are encouraged to get a HOLO card to pay for rides onboard TheBus. You can purchase a HOLO Card at 200+ stores across Oahu, located in most ABC Stores and 7-Elevens. Visit holocard.net to find a location near you. You can get a Day, Month or Annual Pass. You can also earn a Day Pass by paying for 2 rides, then ride the rest of the day for free! A family can manage multiple riders under one HOLO account and fare capping will make sure you don’t over pay for a daily or monthly fare. There is also a 2.5 hour transfer window! TheBus is easy, affordable, and convenient for visitors. Keep in mind that bags need to fit on your lap or get stowed under your seat.
Get an annual pass and reduced fare HOLO cards—including Disability, Medicare, Senior, and Youth cards— at TheBus Pass Office on Middle Street. Senior and Youth cards are also available at Satellite City Halls.
