Wednesday, July 29, 2022 from 4:30-7:30 pm
Check out the Honolulu Zoo’s afternoon Summer Concert – Wildest Show, featuring six time Grammy Award Nominee, four Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Amy Hanaialii! Amy will be live at the Honolulu Zoo’s Great Lawn on July 29th from 4:30-7:30 pm. Bring your friends and family to show your support to help create a new habitat for the endangered Hawaiian Hawk exhibit.
The Hawaiian Hawk (‘Io) is known for it’s symbol of royalty. ‘Io meaning swift, strong and fierce are native only to the Hawaiian Islands. Partnered with the Hawaii Wildlife Center, who specializes in building natural habitats for native birds and bats, they are working to create a more natural habitat for the ‘Io here in the Honolulu Zoo. Unfortunately the ‘Io cannot be released back into wild because of habitat loss and human conflict.
The Honolulu Zoo will be open on event days during normal business hours of 10:00 am-4:00 pm, and re-opening from our Monsarrat Avenue entrance only for the evening’s event. Gate opens at 4:30 pm. Wildest Show guests will be asked to stay within the Great Lawn during the event as the rest of the Zoo will be closed. Live, local entertainment will be from 5:00-7:00 pm.
In addition to live entertainment, guests can also purchase special picnic fare as well as enjoy fun, pre-concert family activities such as weekly animal-themed keiki coloring contests, conservation stations and animal trivia.
