This unique exhibit of Hawaii’s enduring fashion statement, the Aloha Shirt, will take you through the history, artistry and production of our most beloved and treasured clothing item of Hawaii. Over sixty items are in this collection that includes sketches, swatches and advertisements help tell the story of how the “Aloha” shirt has come to make it’s mark in the fashion world!
Uncle George Na‘ope, and Cyril Lani Pahinui got together and inspired the Aloha Shirt Festival to celebrate this unique Island heritage that focuses on the local garment industry. Come celebrate the Aloha Shirt with exhibits, sales, appraisals, vintage collections, repurposed clothing shown in fashion runway shows. The Aloha Shirt Exhibit is part of Gwen and Evan Olins of Flamingos and Hula Heaven, and Sylvia Kop of Hula Supply Center’s private collections. Also wearable arts and accessories will be available for purchase at the Pop-Up Market along with lots of food, music and hula!
