Hamura’s Saimin – Lihue, Kauai has the most amazing Lilikoi Chiffon Pie!
This small mom and pop restaurant in a small blue house that everyone lines up for the saimin and beef sticks. Their light and fluffy lilikoi (passion fruit) meringue pie has a slight tanginess with a light crispy crust and just the perfect dollop of whipped cream to send your tastebuds into heaven! Holy’s Bakery – Kapa’au, Big Island
This Big Island family owned bakery since 1932 started by Yoshio Hori, pronounced with a rolled R sound in the Japanese language was mispronounced heard as (ho-lee) to non-Japanese ears. So a Y was added and Holy’s Bakery came be. Holy’s family has has been using his original buttery crust recipe to make their signature frozen peach, coconut, pear and apple pies for four generations.
