May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii!
Come out to the Waikoloa Lei Day Festival on Sunday, April 30th at Queens’ Marketplace, Kona Big Island from 2-7pm. This is a FREE Event and open to the public!
Learn about the history of lei-making and come to a workshop from 2-5:30pm. There will be crown flower lei, maile ti leaf style lei or plumeria lei making (first-come, first served). A Haku Lei, called po’o, is a lei worn worn around the head will be demonstrated by Halau O Po’ohala. There will activities like Ring Toss, Corn Hole, Tic Tac Toe, Jenga and Connect 4 activities will be at the Coronation Pavilion and face painting with Aunty Cynthia for the kids to enjoy! Queens’ Marketplace will feature a craft fair and sidewalk sales for the day. Live entertainment by local artists: The Lim Family, Hui Ho’okani and Darlene Ahuna.
