When Bill Wyland formulated the successful strategy for his namesake gallery on Front Street in Lahaina, it started with his personal favorite artists.

“I’ve been in the art gallery business since 1988,” he says. “I opened up a gallery in Haleiwa on the north shore of Oahu showcasing my brother Wyland’s work. The business grew fast. At one point, I had 17 galleries on the islands. I know art- and I know great artists!”

After selling the galleries, the former Air Force fireman and professional skier retired from the gallery business and moved on to other ventures. Bill still owns a fuel business and virus testing equipment company, and runs an angel investment firm. But in 2016 Bill was drawn back to his first business love, and it resulted in Bill Wyland Galleries in Lahaina, the largest in the state.

“What I love about this gallery is that it’s comprised of my favorite artists. I still live on Oahu, but I spend a lot of time here because I enjoy sharing our collection with guests from around the world.”

Artists whose works are displayed at the gallery include:

Ruben Aira, Jr., Jeff Albrecht, Arozi, Michael Godard, Henry Asencio, Andrea Everhart, Marti Dogs, Josh Saraffin, Chris Gutzeit, Wade Jackson, Scott Hanson, Dennis Matthewson, Shannon McDonald, LeoHone, David Miller, Bryan Pezman, John Pitre, Jeffrey Robert, Andre Romasukov, and The Twins.

“Every artist in our gallery is internationally known. We’re blessed to represent some of the top names in the world of art.”

Make the Bill Wyland Galleries a must stop when you visit the former whaling village of Lahaina. And if you see him, say aloha.
