If you’re near Hilo on a rainy day, have some indoor fun at Escape Hilo, a thought-heavy, puzzle-oriented mystery experience. “We are the only escape room experience on this side of the island,” says owner Ryan Neal. “We create an experience where the customer can feel fulfilled with their own puzzle-solving abilities. Hilo needs things to do inside when the weather is poor.”

Escape Hilo is perfect for families or groups that don’t want to deal with the physical demands of other activities like laser tag. “What makes escape rooms so fun is that the guests create the experience while solving the puzzles, which is more satisfying than, say, going to a movie or arcade,” adds Neal. “People walk out talking excitedly about the adventure.”

Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins are accepted when there is availability.
