Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park was the site of Hawaiian settlements before European explorers arrived. The area includes a house site, diverse archeological remnants and three fishponds. Hale Hookipa Visitor Center is open 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. daily; Kaloko road gate is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Located on the west coast about three miles south of the Keahole International Airport and three miles north of Kailua-Kona on the oceanside of Highway 19.
