Makena State Park, located south of Wailea, is also known as Oneloa Beach, Makena or Big Beach, and Little Beach. This beautiful stretch of golden sand is 1.5 miles long and more than 100 feet wide; it’s anchored by the cinder cone, Puu Olai. Swimming, body boarding and snorkeling are popular, but use caution due to the shore break, strong current and high surf. Picnic tables and restrooms are available.
