National Tropical Botanical Gardens

Here is where you’ll see Kaua‘i living up to its nickname. NTBG encompasses three gardens: McBryde and Allerton Gardens on the south shore; and Limahuli Garden on the north side.

McBryde Garden makes its home in Lawa‘i Valley. See collections of palms, flowering trees, heliconia, orchids and many other flora collected by botanists and biologists. Allerton Garden is unique, part garden and part outdoor art exhibit. See garden rooms, exotic plants, sculptures and water features.

Recently reopened, Limahuli Garden requires visitors to now make advance online reservations at the NTBG website for self-guided tours in order to mitigate the impact of traffic and vehicles on the surrounding community. Hawai‘i residents with ID and North Shore Shuttle riders are exempt. Shuttle system info at kauainsshuttle.com. Guided tours are available at all three gardens with advance reservations.
